I finally got to my Quilting lesson today....

...and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I started on a new block, learning applique. It is not nearly as tricky as I thought it would be. Dave stayed home to look after Ciára, Zoe was at kindy. Now just to convince him that he should do that every month or so, then I wouldn't have to go on weekends!

I have quickly become obsessed with quilting, I love the down time it gives me and i find it so satisfying, I just can't wait to finish the sampler quilt. I have enrolled to do a machine quilting course over 2 days in August and September, and can't wait!

Now to go and do some more of the current block. I really will work out how to resize photos so i can put some of my work on the blog! Really I will....

Oh, and exciting news for us, we bought a brand spanker new car and will hopefully get it on monday. A Mazda CX9, we think it is just gorgeous! Looking forward to getting it next week.

Here I am in the World of Blogs!!

I am such a technophobe, as you can see by the size of my photo!! I must learn to rectify that!!

Life is hectic as ever, trying to find any time to do anything at the moment other than my "home duties" is proving to be quite difficult. But...I am off to Singapore tomorrow for 5 days and I am going to take along my sampler quilt that I am working on. I wish i could take it on the plane to do...maybe i will just risk the needle and pack spare ones in my suit case!!!

My aim with this blog is a couple of things;

  • to share my quilting journey. I am totally addicted to it already and have a list a mile long of things i want to do.
  • to get a little more "with the times" and learn more than the basics of how to use a computer!!!
  • to share our life with our family who are overseas...Dave is Irish so all his family is in Ireland and America, I have a sister in Lonson and we have friends all over the place!!

So, here's to my first blog. I will work on it and I will get better!! But for now, I am off to pack my suitcase and look forward to 5 days in Singapore!
